The Retreat Selous is an all-suite safari destination directly on the Great Ruaha River in a Unesco World Heritage site and an area untouched for centuries by civilisation, far away from any other lodge or camp providing a unique experience of remote wilderness, adventure, nature, wildlife, comfort and relaxation. Established with principles of Feng Shui, the five elements and the concept of polarity and its design, it is a new approach of exploring Africa individually and authentically. Tracking still normally behaving game by open 4WD vehicles, on boat, on foot, enjoying a special treatment at the “Senses to Africa” capturing the spirit of the land Africa - or spending a night or two in a nomadic fly camp, just set up in the bush with bush dinners prepared on an open fire or relaxing in the suites or at the main house just a few of many options.

2 km away from the main lodge in the meander of Ruaha river, a private camp called Hippo point with two additional suites with individual plunge pool, infinity pool, private bar and dining area can be hired exclusively with private cook, butler, guide, open safari vehicle and boat.
